11 teams of high school students submitted concept plans for revitalizing and providing input in a real life project. These plans aim to redesign St. James Town community Co-op to be a more climate resilient garden where others could become more involved within their community.
The winner of this year's 1UP Design Competition is Team 10 (Heather Ajoy, Helen Ye, Khajani Sivapala, Kelly Hong)! Congratulations on winning the $500 cash prize and DesignTO memberships.
The People’s Choice Award also goes to Team 10 (Heather Ajoy, Helen Ye, Khajani Sivapala, Kelly Hong)! Congratulations on winning $25 worth of their choice of an Indigo, Uber, or Subway gift card for each person.

Pictured below is the St. James Town Community Centre Co-op backyard near Sherbourne Street and Wellesley Street East. Students across Toronto came together and re-envisioned the area to suit a more climate resilient garden where others could become more involved within their community.
